Asian Sunil Narang, who is a partner at AAA Cinemas which was launched earlier today, said the ticket prices at the multiplex will be affordable for the general public. “The price will be neither high nor low. It will be at medium level. Plus, if people complain about the prices, we will reduce. Audiences have stopped coming to theatres because of prices. They say content, this that but price is also the reason. When compared to AMB, there will be a 20 percent decrease in prices at AAA Cinemas,” he said, speaking to media persons.
This is the third multiplex that Asian Cinemas has come up with while partnering with a star. Who are they partnering with, next? “We aren’t intentionally planning it. The partnerships just happened because of our relationship with the actors. Up next, we are teaming up with Siva Karthikeyan for a multiplex in Chennai. Also, we are constructing a multiple in place of Sudarshan 70 mm at RTC X Roads. Furthermore, we are coming up with an open air theatre at the airport. It’s one -of-its-kind. We’ve been given two acres of the land by GMR for the purpose. It will start in August and will be ready by December,” he said.
Coming to AAA Cinemas, he said operations at the multiplex will begin with the 8:25 am show. “We are planning to give students a 10-20 percent discount for morning shows. Cinema is primarily watched by the middle class. If you cause a dent in their pockets, how will they come? If it isn’t for them, a cinema theatre will not run,” he pointed out.
