Stepping out of his comfort zone in the last three-four years, Allari Naresh dished out films like Naandhi and Ugram and his latest, Bachhala Malli, whose trailer was dropped by Natural star Nani on Saturday, promises to unleash the beast in him. The film is written and directed by Subbu Mangadevvi of Solo Brathuke So Better fame.
Playing out over two minutes and 37 seconds, the trailer opens with Bachhala Malli (Naresh) meeting with a road accident on his bike and lying down unconscious on the road. In a flashback, we are later introduced to Malli, the man, through a cop played by Rao Ramesh. Flaunting a devil-may-care attitude, he gets into brawls often, ending up on the winning side with his raw power. When in a mood to fight, he doesn’t spare anyone, including cops. He smokes, drinks and visits brothels. At one point, possibly a well-wisher addressing Malli says ‘there are machines to measure blood pressure and sugar but there isn’t one to measure a man’s stupidity. If there’s one you would have a world record measure’. Malli soon falls in love with a character played by Amritha Aiyer and his life takes a drastic turn later. He turns sober. Their love story blossoms amid the pure and picturesque backdrop of Godavari, offering enticing glimpses of the breathtaking beauty of the natural surroundings. Just when his life is headed in the right direction as per the wishes of his mom played by Rohini, a character played by Achyuth Kumar enters his story and threatens to rip it apart. How Malli rises to the challenge seems to form the crux of the story.
In conclusion, the trailer is adrenaline-pumping and promises an emotional rollercoaster ride with an intense and fearless Malli. He walks a tightrope between aggression, bitterness and vulnerability and his body language and dialogue delivery are on point. Amritha as his alluring love interest and Achyuth Kumar as the formidable antagonist add depth to the high-stakes world of the film. Promising a blend of raw action and gripping drama, the trailer teases a film with intense storytelling and a powerful characterization. The background score and the production values add to the trailer’s impact.
Produced by Razesh Danda, Balaji Gutta under Hasya Movies, Bachhala Malli blazes into cinemas on December 20th.
