As the darling of the dress circle, Nandamuri Balakrishna, celebrated his 63rd birthday on Saturday, the makers of his next, Bhagavanth Kesari, dropped the teaser of the film at Bramaramba theatre, Hyderabad to a rousing reception from Nandamuri fans. Simultaneously, it was screened in 108 plus theatres worldwide at the same time (10:19 am).
The one minute 24 seconds long teaser begins with Balayya saying, ‘Raju ani enakunna vandalamandi mandanu chooyistadu, mondodu anikunna oke oka gundenu chooyistadu (As a mark of his power, the king displays the hundreds behind him, while a stubborn man shows his strong heart alone). Anil Ravipudi has clearly given Balayya a makeover from head-to-toe, with a tattoo on his forearm. The dialogue-heavy teaser, which is symbolic of Balayya’s teasers, also shows a fleeting glimpse of him being a prisoner, bearing the number 108, which is indicative of the film he is shooting for. At midpoint of the teaser, he is surrounded by a group of bikers ready to take him down, while he neutralizes the threat defying gravity and screaming, ‘Adavi bidda Nelakonda Bhagavanth Kesari’. It concludes on a softer note with Balayya using a bat as a guitar and playing it in a bus. The stirring title track in the background by Thaman adds to the impact of the teaser. Arjun Rampal, who is making his Telugu debut with the film, also gets a sizable screen time as the powerful but handicapped villain. Overall, the teaser promises to be a high-octane action drama in the offing.
Presently on sets in Hyderabad, Bhagavanth Kesari co-stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sree Leela, Arjun Rampal and Sarath Kumar. Scheduled for a release this Dasara, it is a production venture of Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens.
