The trailer of Gopichand’s next, Bhimaa, was launched at AAA Cinemas, Hyderabad on Saturday. The cast and crew of the actioner graced the do. Kannada director A Harsha is making his Telugu debut with the film.

The two minutes and 30 seconds trailer begins with sadhus’ and devotees offering their prayers to lord Shiva before something terrifying startles them. Then a voiceover states that Parashurama is the sixth avatar of lord Vishnu and he created the magnificent land Parashuramudi Kshetram with his axe. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity over there. But soon some demons start raising hell in the place, tormenting ordinary people. Seeing this lord Shiva sends a Brahmarakshasudu who has no mercy. On cue, enters Gopichand in a cop avatar while riding a bull and taking down anyone who comes in his way. “Nenu oochakotha modalu pedithe ee oorlo smashanam kuda saripodhu naa kodaka (If I go on a killing spree, the burial ground of this village wouldn’t be enough),” goes a powerful line from him to a troublemaker. Director Harsha also introduces another Gopi but in a rugged avatar. He, however, is as powerful as the cop Gopi. How are they connected to the story? The answer will unravel only in theatres on March 8th.

Overall, the trailer packs in enough mystery, action and drama to intrigue the viewers, while promising a solid commercial entertainer interspersed with mythological elements. The role of a cop is tailor-made for Gopi who also maintains contrast with the other role. The effort went into the camerawork is noticeable with the outstanding and atmospheric visuals, while the background score by Ravi Basrur is laudable. The production design is top-notch while the action is adrenaline-fueled.

Co-starring Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malvika Sharma, Bhimaa, produced by KK Radhamohan under his Sri Sathya Sai Arts, also features Nasser, Naresh, Poorna, Raghu Babu, Vennela Kishore, Mukesh Tiwari, Chammak Chandra and Rohini in supporting roles.
