The trailer of Rajeev Kanakala and anchor Suma’s son Roshan Kanakala’s debut film Bubblegum was released amid the presence of K Raghavendra Rao, Rana Daggubati and Anil Ravipudi in Hyderabad on Friday.
Playing over two minutes and forty two seconds, the trailer opens where the teaser left off. “Naa Naseeb Lo Em Raasi Pettundo Naaku Thelvadu… Kaanee Nachinattu Marchukuntaa… Kavalsindi Lakkoni Thechukuntaa… Adi Izzat Ainaa… Aukaat Ainaa… (I don't know what is written in my destiny... but I will change it as I like... I will take what I want... Even if it is self-respect or status),” thunders Aditya (Roshan) before the trailer cuts to his story. Belonging to a middle-class family, Adi is a DJ who is keen on impressing at least one person to alter the course of the music industry. A rich girl Jahnvi ((Maanasa Choudhary) awed by his music offers him some tips on fashion while simultaneously sweeping him off his feet. He is in love in no time and she responds positively. Their breezy romance takes centre stage for a while and everything appears smooth, until out of nowhere another man comes into Jahnvi’s life and starts moving closely with her, much to the frustration of Adi. Soon differences crop among Adi and Jahnvi and the latter yells at the former in front of everyone at a party. How Adi channelizes his frustration on Jahnvi to achieve his goals in life seems to form the crux of the story.
Rounding up, the trailer, with neat production values, is first-rate and promises a dramatic romantic drama of GenZ youth. Roshan appears to have sunk his teeth into the role, portraying a youngster who is madly in love and completely lost at the same time with a great deal of flamboyance while Maanasa is all grace. The background score by Sricharan Pakala infuses a lot of energy and joie de vivre into the trailer.
Also featuring Harsha Chemudu, Kiran G, Anannyaa Akulaa, Harshvardhan, Anu Hasan, Jairam Eashwar and Bindu Chandramouli in supporting roles, Bubblegum, which has been produced by Maheshwari Movies in association with People Media Factory, lands in theatres on December 29.
