Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Owen congratulated Sri. Chiranjeevi Garu for winning the prestigious award. He also praised Sri. Chiranjeevi Garu for his social activities that are continually saving thousands of lives. He said that he hopes to work together with Chiranjeevi Garu to enable the Film Industry to have great relations with Britain.

Thanking Mr. Owen, Sri. Chiranjeevi Garu said that it is a great honour to have British High Commission team to visit Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust and said that this will inspire thousands more to follow in their noble steps of donating blood. He explained that he takes more pride in the work done by Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust then of a blockbuster hit film. He said that since its inception 10 lakh units of blood have been donated. He also said that 9060 people eye sight could be restored due to the eye bank. He explained that CCT oxygen banks in 32 districts enabled free availability of oxygen cylinders helping the Telugu states overcome the shortage of oxygen during the peak of the pandemic.

Dr. Madhavi Garu, CEO of Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust thanked the British Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Owen for visiting the facility and donating blood. She said that Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust looks forward to doing more joint activities with British High Commission in the future.
