Chiranjeevi, who’s currently working on Bimbisara director Vassishta’s fantasy tale Vishwambhara (a.k.a Mega 156), rose above several highs and lows to cement his authority in Telugu cinema, while making a mark in Bollywood in the 1990s as well. From his political innings to his contributions in the social service sector to his illustrious film career, Mega Star has lead an eventful life.

Now, it’s official that popular author, screenwriter and director Yandamuri Veerendranath will be penning Chiranjeevi’s biography. soon The news was confirmed at a literary event graced by the star (to honour ANR and NTR’s contributions to the industry in Vizag this week), where Yandamoori was felicitated.

“Yandmuri’s works were crucial in driving my career forward and I wouldn’t have been a Mega Star today without his contributions.” Chiranjeevi recollected two of his iconic films inspired by Yandamoori’s novels - Challenge and Abhilasha - the impact they created among the youth and how they continue to be celebrated and appreciated even today.

Chiranjeevi stated that Yandamoori’s novels ensured a strong foundation to his early years in the industry and confirmed the news that the writer had come forward to write his biography recently. “I was naturally humbled when he approached me with the idea.”

The two most popular biographies of Chiranjeevi were written by senior journalists U Vinayaka Rao (Mega Star - The Legend) and Pasupuleti Rama Rao (Chiranjeevitham) in the recent decade, with both writers exploring various dimensions of his film stint spanning over 150 movies. Given how closely Yandamuri has worked with Chiranjeevi since the 1980s, it’ll be interesting to know the popular writer’s approach to the biography.
