We were the first (April 19) to inform you that Kalyan Krishna and PS Mithran (Sardar fame) were in the race to direct megastar Chiranjeevi up next for Sushmita Konidela’s Goldbox Entertainments. To this end, the latest we hear is that Chiru has chosen his pick. It’s Kalyan Krishna.
A source close to the development tells us, “Work on this untitled project has kick-started. It will be an out-and-out entertainer synonymous with some of Chiru’s signature entertainers. Nenu Local and Dhamaka writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada has provided the story. It will be laughs galore again from the megastar after Waltair Veerayya. The script work is in full-swing.”
The source adds that the film will get off the ground after the megastar completes Bhola Shankar, which is more than halfway through, and is eyeing a release on August 11. Bhola Shankar’s unit right now is gearing up for a schedule in Kolkata where they will film scenes on Chiranjeevi, Keerthy Suresh, Tamannaah, Vennela Kishore and others. Post this; they will fly to Europe for the filming of a duet on Chiru and Tamannaah, leaving the makers to shoot some talkie portions, climax shoot and a huge set song.
Chiru also agreed to do a film for Bimbisara director Vassishta Mallidi and chances are that he will juggle between the sets of this film with that of Kalyan’s. UV Creations are producing Vassistha’s film.
