The release trailer of Niharika Konidela’s production venture Committee Kurrollu is out and it celebrates young spirit sprinkled with a liberal scoop of humour.

Close to two and a half minutes in duration, the new trailer opens with one of the protagonists telling his daughter that his childhood was golden. “There were neither responsibilities nor burdens. As soon as we got up in the morning we would rush to idly grandma’s stall and later we used to watch TV collectively,” he reminisces. The trailer later cuts to three friends Subbu, Rambabu and William who are well into their 20s, sharing many light-hearted and slice-of-life moments. Everyone has a romantic interest. Together with other friends, they indulge in some fun banter while pulling their opponents legs playing pranks. Things take a turn when one of the protagonists questions the village president’s right-hand man on the development activities that have taken place in the village in the last decade, leaving the president (Sai Kumar) fuming. It’s time for a change, he believes. He forms a group Committee Kurrollu and elects a woman to contest in the looming elections. The rest of the trailer focuses on whether she will win the polls against a strong opponent like Sai Kumar amid a fair which happens once every 12 years.

Replete with youthful exuberance and organic humour, the trailer leaves you in stitches, while promising a youthful entertainer that deals with themes like friendship, romance, college life and local politics all set up in a beautiful and colorful village. The production values are rich, background score is lively and the frames are bedecked with bright colours.

The film’s cast includes Sandeep Saroj, Yashwant Pendyala, Trinath Verma, Prasad Behara, Ishwar Rachiraju, Manikantha Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Shyam Kalyan, Raghuvaran, Sivakumar Matta, Akshay Srinivas, Sharanya Suresh, Tejaswi Rao, Vishika and Shanmuki Nagumanthri. Anudeep Dev is the music composer. Directed by debutant Yadhu Vamsi, it sails into theatres on August 9th.
