It was a double delight for fans of actor Nani as he not only unleashed his first look as rustic Dharani from his next, Dasara, but also dropped a video glimpse from the Srikanth Odela directorial. The earthy video, bearing Nani’s swag, has got a unanimous positive response from his fans, raising the curiosity levels on the film.
Speaking to idlebrain.com exclusively, producer Sudhakar Cherukuri, who is shepherding the film under his Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, said that the film’s shoot has kicked off two days ago with the filming of a dance number. “We are shooting in Bachupally, Hyderabad where a massive village set has been erected. It will go on here for 15 days more followed by a four-day break. 70 percent of the shoot will happen here while we will visit Godavarikhani for a 10-day schedule. We were supposed to shoot there but due to an unfortunate accident at the location, we had to postpone it. Then there is a schedule in a coal mine in Madhya Pradesh as well. We sought permission from the central government for it; we are waiting for their clearance. Overall, we intend to complete the film in 100 working days,” he said.
Sudhakar dubbed the film as a political drama set in the backdrop of Singareni Coal Mines in Godavarikhani, with Nani playing a rustic villager who carries a couple of cheap liquor bottles in a saddle around his waist with unkempt hair and beard. Refusing to give more about the actor’s role, Sudhakar said, “It’s a role he hasn’t played before.”
The producer also informed that Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko will be seen in a prominent role, while the likes of Sai Kumar, Zarina Wahab, Samuthirakani and Kannada actor Deekshith Shetty will round off the supporting cast. He added that composer Santosh Narayan has so far recorded three songs.
