The trailer of Nani-starrer Dasara, which is high on expectations, was released earlier today. And going by the looks of it, it promises to be a mass rampage from Nani.
Playing out over two minutes and 14 seconds, the trailer begins with women partaking in the Bathukamma festival before introducing a de-glam Keerthy as bride Vennela. Nani as Dharani gets a heroic entry as he takes on a man mid air while a goods train ferrying coal passes next to him. He is high on alcohol most of the time due to which he constantly beats the hell out of people. When the intoxication wears off, he doesn’t have a clue on what he did. It looks like a lot has gone into his makeup to make him look like Dharani who pilfers coal from freight trains to make a living. Malayalam actor Tom Chacko is the grey element here and he seems to dislike Dharani and people of his ilk. But Nani and his gang are ready to revolt against such men who are out to cause harm to them. ‘Etlayithe gatlaye suskundham (come what may, I’m ready to face it)’, he thunders. It’s obvious that debutant director Srikanth Odela has emphasized a lot on the visual aspect of the storytelling, while giving away very little of the plot. Also, many frames in the trailer indicate that he has unleashed the beast in Nani.
To be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages on March 30th, Dasara features Dheekshith Shetty, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Poorna and Zarina Wahab among others in supporting roles. Made on a budget of Rs 70 crore, it is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas, while Santosh Narayanan is the music director.
Nani surprises with his dialogue delivery and superb makeover as Dharani. Keerthy Suresh looks rustic as Vennela. #Dasara looks like a movie with political backdrop and class difference.
