The trailer of Jr NTR-starrer Devara was dropped by the makers on Tuesday and it promises a high-octane drama. Speaking at the trailer launch in Mumbai, Tarak sounded extremely positive about the film’s action. “When (Koratala) Siva narrated the script to Karan (Johar) sir, Apoorva (Mehta) sir and Anil (Thadani) sir, the three mascots of Devara, and showed them a few visuals, I was really shocked seeing their reactions. And that’s when I came to know that the movie will definitely work. I would call the movie an action drama; it’s extremely high on action.
“Saif (Ali Khan) sir would definitely agree with me when I say that we’ve both been part of physically strenuous action sequences. Peter Heins, Anl Arasu and (King) Solomon worked on the action. Solomon worked on RRR as well; he is a national-award winner. He has extensively worked on the over water and the underwater sequences of the film. We’ve shot for about 38 days for underwater sequences and about close to 60-odd days for over water sequences. So that itself was a chunk of 80-100 days. So it is phenomenal action; action that you haven’t probably seen before. The kind of CGI that has been blended into those sequences is phenomenal. I can’t wait for the world to see it,” Tarak pointed out.
Set to hit theaters on September 27, 2024, Devara: Part 1 is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram presenting it. Janhvi Kapoor is cast opposite Tarak in the film, also starring Srikanth, Prakash Raj and Shine Tom Chacko. It’s an Anirudh Ravichander musical.
