Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who is making his Telugu debut with Jr NTR-starrer Devara, on Monday underwent a tricep surgery at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital for an old injury that got aggravated while performing an action sequence on the sets of his upcoming movie.

The actor, who is known for his versatility, has reportedly suffered the injury while filming for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon in 2017.

The surgery was successful and he was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. The actor was seen waving his hand at the shutterbugs that waited outside his residence in Mumbai.

Sharing an update about his health on Monday, Saif, last seen in Adipurush, said, "This injury and the surgery that followed is a part of the wear and tear of what we do. I am very happy to be in such amazing surgical hands and thank all well-wishers for their love and concern.”

Meanwhile, the makers of Devara wished the actor, who is playing Tarak’s bête noire in the film, a speedy recovery. Taking to X, the official handle of the film wrote, “Wishing you a Speedy recovery, Saif sir! Get well soon. Can't wait for your comeback on the sets. #Devara.”

It remains to be seen if Saif’s surgery will hamper the release plans of Devara or if the makers will truly stick to arriving on April 5th. There are also whispers that the film might be postponed due to polls to the AP legislative assembly scheduled to take place in the same time period.
