Attention movie enthusiasts. The much-awaited trailer of Jr NTR-starrer Devara is out and it is dominated by action and violence, while drama and romance too dot it.

A little under three minutes, it opens with the ominous introduction of Bhairava (played by Saif Ali Khan) and his ruthless and fearless men who kill anyone who comes in their way, including the coast guard. But soon they start fearing and it is due to Devara (Jr NTR) who believes that all a man needs is enough courage to live. He is out to shield his people from the clutches of Bhairava. “As long as you are there, this place shall obey your orders,” says Bhairava to Devara. Bhairava is waiting for an opportune moment and a right weapon to kill Devara. The trailer then transitions to Devara’s son (played by NTR) who is unlike his father-- he is timid and naïve. Jhanvi Kapoor, who loves him, says he only got his dad’s looks not his traits. Things take a turn when one of the villagers goes missing, prompting Devara’s son to search for him. To know what happens next, we have to catch the action on the big screen on September 27. The trailer concludes with a money shot of Tarak emerging from the sea hanging on to a shark with a rope.

Rounding up, the trailer is atmospheric filled with top-class visuals and adrenaline-fueled action. While writer-director Koratala Siva doesn’t give away much, he sure piques our interest with the absorbing drama, which is his forte. Anirudh’s beats and bops heighten the drama while NTR arrests us with his intensity. Saif is menacing, while Jhanvi seems to offer lighter moments in the film.

Devara- Part 1 is a joint production venture between Mikkilineni Sudhakar’s Yuvasudha Arts and Hari Krishna Kosaraju of NTR Arts. Also featuring Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Shine Tom Chacko, it sails into cinemas on September 27.
