Back in form with KA, which released last year, Kiran Abbavaram is ready with his next, Dilruba, the teaser of which was dropped by the makers on Friday in Hyderabad. And going by the looks of it, Kiran has another winner in hand.
Spanning close to two minutes in length, the teaser opens in a coastal setting (presumably Goa) with Kiran’s voice-over. He states that he is a love failure, who is helped by a couple of friends, King and George, to overcome the phase. As he decides to maintain a safe distance from girls, Anjali, (Rukshar Dhillon) who seems to be a tomboy, enters his life. She sweeps him off his feet and their steamy romance takes centre stage for a while. The teaser soon transitions into full-on action mode, with the writer-director choosing to conceal the conflict. Still early days, right? It concludes with Kiran saying love is great but the pain it gives is dangerous. Youngsters can’t agree more!
Overall, the teaser, not giving away too much, offers a enticing glimpse into the world of Dilruba, dominated by romance, emotions and potential plot twists that will keep the audience at the edge of their seats. Kiran is refreshing as a lover boy, while he shares a sizzling chemistry with Rukshar. Sam CS, after KA and Pushpa 2, proves why he is one of the composers to watch-out for, as his score is young at heart and complements the backdrop of the film well. The production values are top-notch.
Written and directed by Viswa Karun, Dilruba is a joint production venture between Ravi, Rakesh Reddy, Jojo Jose and Saregama.
