The much anticipated teaser of Extra-Ordinary Man, top-lined by Nithiin, is here and it promises to be a crazy entertainer with commercial bells and whistles. On Monday, Nithiin, who is away in Italy to attend Varun Tej-Lavanya Tripathi wedding, unveiled the trailer taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page. The film marks eminent writer Vakkantham Vamsi’s return to the director’s saddle after Naa Peru Surya- Naa Illu India.
Playing out over one minute and 20 seconds, the teaser opens with Nithiin’s role practicing rifle shooting before he takes on multiple thugs and neutralizing them. Out of sheer curiosity, a character played by Sampath Raj wants to know who Nithiin is. “Did you see Baahubali? Do you know who the seventh man is in the sixth line is?” Sampath is baffled. “I’m a junior artiste,” Nithiin adds much to the shock of Sampath Raj. In fact, he is ridiculed by his own father (Rao Ramesh) for being a junior artiste. “Rey nuvvoka junior artiste-vi. Ante extra gadivi. Oka ordinary gadiki endhuku ra inni extralu?” Ramesh says to his son who has applied a face pack and is at his home. “Ala single single ga kakunda, mingle chesi choodandni nanna. Extra-ordinary. Extraordinary,” Nithiin declares with an air of optimism. While Vamsi doesn’t give away much in terms of the plot, he sure establishes his idiosyncratic lead character well.
Overall, the teaser is up to the mark and promises to be a no-holds barred entertainer with a whacky hero characterization typical of Vamsi’s writing. Harris Jayaraj’s background score switches from being caressing it like a gentle breeze in the middle to that of complementing it like a typical popcorn entertainer in the latter portions. Nithiin seems to have had a lot of fun playing the titular role as he is in his element while Vamsi seems to have given both Ramesh and Sampath Raj characters with a lot of weight.
Co-starring Sree Leela opposite Nithiin, Extra, also featuring Sudhev Nair, Rohini, Brahmaji, Ajay, Harsha Vardhan, Annapurnamma, Pavitra Naresh, Ravi Varma, Hyper Aadhi, Venkatesh Mummidi, Jagadeesh, Soniya Singh, Satyasri, Hari Teja, Shrikant Iyenger, Rupa Lakshmi, Prudhvi, vrooms into cinema halls on December 8th. It is a joint production venture between Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy.
