The trailer of Extra-Ordinary Man, front-lined by Nithiin, was dropped by the makers at an event in Hyderabad on Monday. The cast and crew of the actioner graced the do.
Two minutes in length, the trailer opens with a school-going Abhi (played by Nithiin) informing his mother (Rohini) that he is bored of himself and that he likes being someone else every time. The mother deduces that there’s an actor inside her son. Abhi gets used to standing in the background of a family photo or at a school function so much so that he is relegated to a junior artiste in films too. “What are you man? You’re in the background of every movie you’ve featured in?” says an irritated character played by Sampath. Abhi usually gets on the nerves of his boss (Sree Leela) and his dad (Rao Ramesh), the latter of who reprimands him constantly for not worrying about his future but he takes it on the chin while hoping for a miracle from the Goddess he prays: Maisamma. Being a junior artiste, his path crosses with that of the villain (Sudev Nair) and what entails next seems to form the rest of the story. The trailer also offers a glimpse of veteran Rajasekhar who is playing a key supporting role in the film. Addressing Abhi, he says, “I only listen to what life has to tell me. I don’t listen to anyone else.” “Jeevitha aa sir”? Nithiin asks curtly. “Jeevitham,” Rajasekhar replies, while taking a dig at himself. “Both are same for me,” he adds in what is a cleverly written line by writer-director Vakkantham Vamsi, inducing a bagful of laughs.
Rounding up, the trailer of Extra promises a no-holds barred commercial entertainer with dollops of humour and a hero-villain track that keeps you on the edge of your seats with its scintillating action and hero elevation shots. Nithiin is a bundle of energy and stylish while simultaneously being effortless in comic portions with his spot-timing. Playing a junior artiste, his character seems to have that edge. The likes of Rao Ramesh and Sampath too seem to have gotten roles with a lot of weight.
Extra, also featuring Brahmaji, Ajay, Harsha Vardhan, Annapurnamma, Pavitra Naresh, Ravi Varma, Hyper Aadhi, Venkatesh Mummidi, Jagadeesh, Soniya Singh, Satyasri, Hari Teja, Shrikant Iyenger, Rupa Lakshmi and Prudhvi, vrooms into cinema halls on December 8th. It is a joint production venture between Sudhakar Reddy and Nikitha Reddy.
#Extra trailer is fun. Very entertaining. Been missing these kind of films. @actor_nithiin excels in comedy timing along with Rao Ramesh. 👍
