For the longest time possible, Ram Charan fans have been waiting patiently to know the release date of Game Changer, his next which has been in the making for over three years. When director Shankar participated in a promotional event of his soon-to-release Bharateeyudu 2 in Hyderabad on Monday, he was quizzed about it. “Ram Charan’s portions in the film have been wrapped up. 10-15 days of balance shoot is left. We will announce the release date once the final edit is locked,” Shankar pointed out.

With the film’s producer Dil Raju in the past saying that the release date boils down to Shankar’s call, the director was pressed further on whether the film will make it to cinema halls this year. To this, the acclaimed director said, “It’s not just me who makes the film. It’s the combined efforts of the actors, technicians and producers. The work is going on. Once the edit is locked, we will announce the date.”

Staying with Game Changer, Charan on Monday took to his Instagram account to share a collage of two pictures from the first and last day of shooting announcing completion of his part in the film.

In the pictures, the actor can be seen approaching a chopper. Sharing the collage, he wrote, “The GAME is about to CHANGE! #GAMECHANGER That’s a wrap! See you at the cinemas @shanmughamshankar @srivenkateswaracreations.”

Game Changer is about an honest IAS officer (played by Charan) who wages a battle against political corruption through fair elections to usher in a change in the game of governance. The actor is playing dual roles–of father and son in the film.

Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film, also featuring Kiara Advani, Srikanth, Anjali, Jayaram, SJ Suryah, Pridhvi, Vennela Kishore, Satya and Priyadarshi, is a Thaman musical.
