Featuring the likes of Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohith, Garudan Telugu remake has gone on to floors 15 days ago in Hyderabad. Vijay Kanakamedala, who made a splash with Naandhi more than three years ago, is directing the film, a production venture of KK Radha Mohan under his Sri Sathya Sai Arts.

According to sources, Vijay has retained the soul of the original movie, which acclaimed Tamil director Vetrimaaran has penned, while making some changes. “The two-film old has added more emotions and localized it. The shoot is going on at a rapid pace and it will be wrapped up in a start-to-finish schedule. The target is to complete it by December first week. Radha Mohan is keen on releasing it for Sankranti. Bellamkonda Sreenivas has put all his other films on pause mode to wrap up this film,” said a source close to the development.

The source added that the likes of Anandhi, Aditi Shankar (acclaimed director S Shankar’s daughter) and Divya Pillai (Malayalam fame) have been signed on to play significant parts, with Ajay, Vennela Kishore, Sandeep Raj and Sharath Lohithaswa playing supporting roles. Sri Charan Pakala, who has worked on Vijay’s previous two films, has been handed over the composing reins while Heropanti cameraman Hari K Vedantam is the lensman.
