Gudumba Shankar re-release on Pawan Kalyan’s birth day eve

Continuing with the tradition of re-releasing power star Pawan Kalyan films, which have been a big draw at the box office, his another film, Gudumba Shankar, will also be making its way back to the cinema halls.

Released amid sky-high expectations as it was the power star’s next release after the box office clunker Johnny, Gudumba Shankar was an average grosser. Over time though, it enjoyed great popularity on the small screen courtesy its humour and still packs decent TRP’s whenever it’s screened on TV.

On Wednesday, film’s producer Naga Babu officially announced the re-release date as August 31 and September 1. The dates will coincide with the power star’s birthday on September 2. The revenue from the screenings will go to Jana Sena party fund.

“Mark your calendars for August 31st and September 1st, as we proudly announce the re-release of the iconic movie Gudumba Shankar in theaters. Every rupee generated from ticket sales during these dates will be dedicated to the Janasena party fund, echoing our successful contributions from the proceeds of Jalsa and Orange. Stay tuned for the forthcoming reveal of the official poster, an exciting glimpse into this momentous event. Your participation will play a vital role in supporting the Janasena party's mission,” wrote Naga Babu who is a key member of the party.

Gudumba Shankar narrated the tale of a street smart cheat’s (Pawan) efforts to free his love interest from the clutches of a powerful ruffian (Ashish Vidyarthi). The film’s album, composed by Mani Sharma, was a big chartbuster at that time. It was directed by Veera Shankar.
