HanuMan, widely considered by many as the darkhorse among the Sankranthi releases, is setting new benchmarks by the day, with its fabulous performance at the ticket window in India and overseas locations across languages. Teja Sajja played the lead in the Prasanth Varma directorial that also starred Amritha Aiyer, Vinay Rai, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani in key roles.

The film, besides collecting Rs 150 crore gross at the box office, is now the fifth highest Telugu grosser in the US, eclipsing Ala Vaikunthapurramulo’s collections. HanuMan isn’t yet done with its record-breaking spree yet. With its exceptional performance during the weekend, HanuMan has now gone past the prestigious $ 4 million mark in the US.

At RTC Cross Roads, this movie has collected over 1 crore gross which is phenomenal.

The mythological fantasy has collected approximately $ 448 K across 399 locations on its second Saturday alone. Only three other Telugu films have earned more than HanuMan for a second Saturday in the US - Baahubali 2 ($ 1.5 million), RRR ($ 705 K) and Baahubali ($ 450 K). That HanuMan has managed this it without the star power or even one-tenth budget of the aforementioned films speaks volumes.

Stats from the ticket-booking platform Book My Show reveal that HanuMan has collected over 3 million tickets in India. If we includes bookings from other platforms and walk-ins, Hanuman has over 53 lakh tickets were purchased by viewers. With no major releases scheduled until February 8, HanuMan is expected to collect a handsome total and surpass newer records in the coming weeks. Earlier this week, the makers also donated Rs 2.66 crore (Rs. 5 contribution from each ticket) from the collections towards the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
