HYDERABAD: The enchanting 'Samatha Ilaiya Ragam' live concert, held on June 8, 2024, at the picturesque Statue of Equality, will be broadcast exclusively on Aha, the world's leading OTT platform, at 12 a.m. on July 7, 2024.

The evening commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished personalities including Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Maestro Ilayaraja, and Jupally Rameshwar Rao - Chairman- My Home Group. The event opened with a soulful prayer honoring the late Ramoji Rao, founder of Enadu and Ramoji Film City, followed by the chanting of the 'Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu' sloka.

The 'Samatha Ilaiya Ragam' concert was a memorable celebration of the timeless melodies and masterful compositions of Padma Vibhushan awardee, Maestro Ilayaraja, showcasing his diverse repertoire that spans over 7,000 songs and scores for more than 1,000 films across multiple languages.

The event drew a large gathering of passionate Ilayaraja fans and music aficionados, who were treated to a mesmerising performance featuring classic hits, religious melodies, and popular favorites performed by talented singers from Ilayaraja's Chennai-based team.

Set against the beautiful Statue of Equality backdrop, the concert offers a delightful mix of Ilaiyaraaja's best songs, from emotional classics to lively favorites. Each performance aims to showcase the maestro's remarkable musical journey.

From children to elders and youngsters, everyone was seen grooving to Ilayaraja's timeless melodies throughout the entire concert. The audience was captivated when the Maestro himself performed the classic song 'Maate Mantramu'.

Renowned singers such as Swetha Mohan, SP Charan, Mano, and Singer Sireesha, alongside many talented newcomers and seasoned artists, delivered captivating performances. Swetha Mohan enchanted the crowd with 'Ninnu Kore Varnam', SP Charan charmed with 'Chilakamma', and Mano delighted with 'Eenade Edo Ayyindi'.

During the concert, SP Charan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform alongside Maestro Ilayaraja, attributing it to the blessings of his late father, SP Balasubramaniam.

In his address to the gathering, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy celebrated Maestro Ilayaraja's illustrious career and extended warm wishes on his recent 82nd birthday, celebrated on June 3, 2024. He said, "Maestro Ilayaraja, now a youthful 82, continues to infuse life into words through his melodies."

The stunning Statue of Equality served as an ideal venue for Ilayaraja's concert, comfortably hosting thousands of attendees with its impressive amenities.
