Janhvi Kapoor, who never shied away from professing her love for South cinema, has once again showered lavish praise on South cinema. As a part of Mili promotions in New Delhi earlier this week, she was asked if she wants to work with any particular actor from the South. To that, she said: “I’ve been saying for years that I want to do a South film. I have grown up watching South cinema. The way they (actors) act… they way the directors direct actors... the way they connect with the audience. I’m a huge fan of South cinema. Which is why I guess I’ve done so many remakes. I hope I get a chance (to do a south film). I will dive into it. I think one actor I really want to work with is Jr NTR sir.”

To a question on whether she is interested to remake any of her mother Sridevi’s films from South, Janhvi said, “I think nobody should remake her films because nobody can work like her.”

A survival thriller, Mili, backed by Boney Kapoor, is the remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Helen. Mathukutty Xavier, who directed the Malayalam original, has returned to direct the Hindi version as well. The film, to open in cinemas later this Friday, also stars actors Manoj Pahwa and Sunny Kaushal.
