Writer-director Nag Ashwin is doing a series of episodes to explain the world building that has gone into the making of Kalki 2898 AD. In the first video, he said that Kalki 2898 AD serves as the climax of all puranas and epics. “It is a culmination of all ancient puranas and epics,” he said.
In the latest video which production house Vyjayanthi Movies dropped on Thursday, he spoke about the three main worlds in Kalki-- Kashi, Complex and Shambala. “The film’s story unfolds among these three worlds and they were designed with a unique approach. Like in Kashi; people there live in a certain way, their clothes, their food, their money transfer process, their vehicles and their weapons are different. Likewise in the Complex, based on their access to resources, their houses, costumes, vehicles are unique. And Shambala is completely different. Their technology, weapons, vehicles and clothes will be different. Each world has its own culture. Also, in Shambala there is a belief that the next avatar of God will be born there. Our culture and scriptures too share the same belief,” Ashwin said.
With a dream cast comprising Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, Kalki 2898AD, a sci-fi drama which intertwines futuristic elements with Hindu mythology, is scheduled to release on June 27. An Aswini Dutt production under his esteemed Vyjayanthi Movies banner, it is a Santosh Narayanan musical.

వరల్డ్ ఆఫ్ కల్కి 2898 AD - ఎపిసోడ్ 2లో డైరెక్టర్ నాగ్ అశ్విన్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. కాశీ భూమి మీద మొదటి నగరం. అలాంటిది ఈ ప్రపంచంలో కాశీనే ఆఖరి సిటీ అయితే ఎలా ఉంటుందన్న ఐడియాతో కల్కి స్క్రిప్ట్ స్టార్ట్ చేశాం. కలియుగం ఎండింగ్ లో అంతా అయిపోయిన తర్వాత గంగ ఎండిపోయిన తర్వాత లాస్ట్ సిటీ ఏముటుందని అనుకుంటే, అలాంటి సమయంలో మన కాశీ వుంటే ఎలా వుంటుంది, నాగరికత పుట్టిందే కాశీలో అలాంటి ఆ సిటీని క్రియేట్ చేయడం చాలా ఇంట్రస్టింగా వుంటుంది. ఇండియన్ ఆర్కిటెక్చర్, వెహికిల్స్, కరెన్సీ ఇలా అన్ని ఫ్యూచరిస్టిక్ గా కాశీని బిల్డ్ చేయడం మొదలుపెట్టాం. కాశీని బిల్డ్ చేయడం వెరీ లాంగ్ ప్రాసెస్.
కాశీపైన పిరమిడ్‌ ఆకారంలో ఉండే స్ట్రక్చర్ వుంటుంది, దాన్ని మేము కాంప్లెక్స్‌ అంటాం. భూమిపై లేని నేచర్, యానిమల్స్, ఫుడ్, ఇలా ప్రతిదీ ఇక్కడ ఉంటుంది. ఒకరమైన స్వర్గం అనుకోవచ్చు. కల్కి కథలో మూడో వరల్డ్ కూడా వుంది. అదే శంబాల. ఇది కల్కి స్టొరీకి ఇంటిగ్రల్ గా వుంటుంది. కాశీకి కాంప్లెక్స్‌ కి సంబంధం లేని థర్డ్ వరల్డ్. ఈ వరల్డ్ వున్న వారు కాంప్లెక్స్‌ లో వున్నవారిని ఛాలెంజ్ చేస్తుంటారు. ఈ వరల్డ్ లో గాడ్ అనే ఐడియా వుండదు. గాడ్ ని బ్యాన్ చేసి వరల్డ్. ఈ మూడు వరల్డ్స్ మధ్య మన కథ నడుస్తుంది. ఒకొక్క వరల్డ్ ని ఒకొక్క థాట్ ప్రాసెస్ తో డిజైన్ చేశాం. కాశీలో ప్రజలు, వెహికిల్స్, కరెన్సీ, ఫుడ్, వెపన్స్ ఒకలా వుంటాయి. కాంప్లెక్స్‌లో ఒకలా వుంటాయి. శంబాలా కంప్లీట్ డిఫరెంట్. ఒకొక్కరు ఒక్కో కల్చర్. శంబాలా లో దేవుడు మళ్ళీ పుడతాడనే ఒక బిలిఫ్ వుంది. కల్కి అవతారం శంబాలా లో పుడుతుందనే నమ్మకం మన పాపులర్ కల్చర్ లో వుంది. ఈ మూడు వరల్డ్స్ ఒకదానితో ఒకటి కనెక్ట్‌ అవుతూ ‘కల్కి’ కథ నడుస్తుంది' అన్నారు
'కల్కి 2898 AD' లో ఇండియన్ బిగ్గెస్ట్ సూపర్ స్టార్స్ అమితాబ్ బచ్చన్, కమల్ హాసన్, ప్రభాస్, దీపికా పదుకొణె, దిశా పటానీ సహా ప్రముఖ నటీనటులు నటిస్తున్నారు. వైజయంతీ మూవీస్ ప్రతిష్టాత్మకంగా నిర్మిస్తోంది. ఈ మల్టీలింగ్వెల్, మైథాలజీ -ఇన్స్ స్పైర్డ్ సైన్స్ ఫిక్షన్ విజువల్ వండర్ 2024 జూన్ 27న ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా గ్రాండ్ గా విడుదల కానుంది.
