Production house Hombale Films on Monday dropped the anticipated first look of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 and boy it is bound to send shivers down the spine.
The one-minute-22-second-teaser opens with Rishab as Siva running through the forest when a ring of fire surrounds him. The familiar hair-raising roar that echoed in the first installment returns to scare and simultaneously thrill us. “Light. In light everything is visible. However, this is not light,” a celestial voice warns Rishab as he gazes at the moon sternly. “It’s a vision. The light which illuminates the past and future. Is it visible?” The voice continues. Cut to a frame that reads, “During the reign of Kadambas”— “a legend was born.” The teaser then offers the glimpse of another man (Rishab himself) drenched in blood, sporting rudraksha, untidy hair and silver bands on his biceps as he brandishes his trident and a trishul. Cut to his close-up, we notice a spark in his eyes.
On the whole, the first look grabs your attention instantly and immerses you in its atmospheric world which is filled with darkness and mysteries while promising an intense and divine cinematic experience. Ajaneesh’s captivating music enhances the overall appeal of the first look a notch higher, while the blood-soaked avatar of Rishab resembling Lord Shiva enthralls us.
Kantara Chapter 1 is set to go on the floors next month. It will be released in seven languages — Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English.
