The Kozhikode District and Sessions court on Friday, citing lack of jurisdiction, lifted the ban against Varaha Roopam song from the box-office smash Kantara, headlined by Rishab Shetty.

Independent music band Thaikkudam Bridge filed a complaint against production house Hombale Films, alleging that they plagiarized Varaha Roopam song from the band’s intellectual property (IP), Navarasam, earlier this September. Back then the Kozhikode District Court passed a decree in favour of the band, while imposing an interim injunction against the song which prevented it from being played across music platforms.

At the same time, an interim injunction order passed by Palakkad district court earlier this month against the use of Varaha Roopam is still in operation.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the song will be included on Amazon Prime Video, where the film started streaming yesterday.
