Actor Karthi on Tuesday apologized to Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan over his comments on laddu. “Dear @PawanKalyan sir, with deep respects to you, I apologize for any unintended misunderstanding caused. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I always hold our traditions dear. Best regards,” he wrote on X.

Attending an event of his Friday release Sathyam Sundaram in Hyderabad, Karthi, while answering to a meme on him with reference to laddu, said, “We should not be talking about laddu now. Sensitive topic. We don’t need it now.”

This comment of his certainly didn’t go down well with Pawan Kalyan, who is observing Prayaschitta Deeksha as part of atonement for adulteration of Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy laddu. “You are cracking jokes on laddu. I saw in a cinema function yesterday someone saying laddu is a sensitive issue. Don’t you ever say that. Don’t. Don’t you ever dare to say that. I respect you as actors but when it comes to Sanathana Dharma, please you have to think 100 times before saying a word,” Pawan said on Tuesday morning.

Karthi issued an apology immediately after the statement of Pawan.
