Sandy Master, who started off as a choreographer, is steadily making his mark as an actor too. He gained notable recognition with his debut role in Leo. Though he received similar roles post-Leo, he consciously chose to avoid typecasting and has been selective with his roles. After a gap, he appeared in a key role in Kotha Lokam, and more recently, in Kishkindhapuri, where his portrayal as Vishrava Putra left a strong impact and marked a turning point in his acting career.
As part of Kishkindhapuri promotions, Sandy Master gave an interview to Idlebrain Jeevi, where he shared insights from his journey—starting as a street dancer to becoming a performer on the big screen. He mentioned that while his expressive eyes and smile help him as an actor, at times, his children are scared by his intense smile. He added that his daughter even refuses to look at the posters of Kishkindhapuri.
Interestingly, many people didn’t know he was part of the film until it released—because the team wanted to keep his character a surprise.
Speaking about NTR, Sandy Master said:
“I’ve always wanted to work with NTR in Telugu cinema. He’s a powerhouse who can deliver every emotion perfectly. In my view, he’s the best dancer in India. I’ve been a fan of his since Student No.1. I once met him and he promised that we’d work together someday. I’m still waiting for that day.”
He also said he feels lucky to have worked with legends like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. He praised Rajinikanth for his humility and said the superstar treats everyone equally on set. “No matter who walks in, he always stands up to talk to them. He doesn’t sit unless the other person does,” Sandy shared.
While he hasn’t choreographed a full song in Telugu films yet, he revealed that he choreographed the traffic rap song for Ram Charan in Game Changer. On a lighter note, Sandy mentioned that even his kids are so scared of his intense smile that he’s stopped smiling in photos when people ask for selfies. He also tries not to open his eyes too wide while speaking, to avoid scaring anyone unintentionally.

నృత్య దర్శకుడు నుండి వడివడిగా నటన వైపు కూడా అడుగులు వేస్తున్నారు శాండీ మాస్టర్. నటుడిగా మొదటి సినిమా 'లియో' తోనే మంచి గుర్తింపు పొందారాయన. ఆ సినిమా తరువాత అలాంటి పాత్రల మాదిరే అవకాశాలు వచ్చినా, ఒకే రకమైన పాత్రలు చేయకూడదన్న ఆలోచనతో పాత్రల ఎంపికలో ఆచితూచి అడుగులు వేస్తున్నారు. మళ్లీ చాలా కాలం తరువాత 'కొత్తలోక' లో కీలకపాత్రలో మెరిశారు శాండీ మాస్టర్. దాని తరువాత ఇటీవలే విడుదలైన 'కిష్కింధపురి' లో విశ్రవపుత్రగా ఆయన కెరీర్ నే అమాంతం మార్చే స్థాయి పాత్రలో కనిపించి మెప్పించడం జరిగింది.
'కిష్కింధపురి' ప్రమోషన్లో భాగంగా 'ఐడిల్ బ్రెయిన్' జీవీకి ఇంటర్వ్యూ ఇచ్చారు శాండీ మాస్టర్. స్ట్రీట్ డాన్సర్ గా మొదలైన తన జీవితం అప్పటి నుండి ఇప్పటి నటుడిగా వరకూ వచ్చిన ప్రయాణంలో జరిగిన విషయాలన్నింటినీ జీవీతో ఆయన పంచుకున్నారు. తన కళ్లు, తన నవ్వు నటుడిగా తనకు అదనపు బలాన్నిచ్చినా, కొన్ని కొన్ని సందర్భాల్లో ఇంట్లో పిల్లలు కూడా తన నవ్వుని చూసి భయపడిపోతారన్నారు. 'కిష్కింధపురి' కి సంబంధించిన పోస్టర్లను చూడటానికి సైతం తన కూతురు ఇష్టపడదన్నారు. సినిమా రిలీజ్ అయ్యే వరకూ 'కిష్కింధపురి' లో నటించిన సంగతి చాలామందికి తెలియదని, ఆ పాత్ర విషయంలో సస్పెన్స్ ఉంచే క్రమంలో అలా బయటకు చెప్పొద్దని చిత్ర బృందం సలహాతోనే అలా దాచి ఉంచామన్నారు.
శాండీ మాస్టర్ ఎన్టీఆర్ గురించి మాట్లాడుతూ..."నాకు తెలుగులో ఎన్టీఆర్ తో వర్క్ చేయాలని ఉంది. ఆయన అన్ని రకాల ఎమోషన్స్ పండించగలరు. నా ఉద్దేశ్యంలో ఇండియాలోనే బెస్ట్ డాన్సర్ ఆయన. స్టూడెంట్ నెం:1 నుండే ఆయనంటే నాకు చాలా ఇష్టం. గతంలో ఒక సందర్భంలో కలిసినప్పుడు తప్పకుండా కలిసిచేద్దామని ఎన్టీఆర్ నాతో అన్నారు. ఆరోజు కోసమే ఎదురుచూస్తున్నాను" అన్నారు.
అగ్ర హీరోలు రజినీకాంత్ మరియు కమల్ హాసన్ లాంటి వాళ్ళతో పనిచేయడం తన అదృష్టమన్నారు. రజినీకాంత్ సెట్లో అందరితో చాలా కలివిడిగా ఉంటారని, అందరినీ సమానంగానే చూస్తారన్నారు. ఎవరొచ్చినా నిలబడే మాట్లాడతారని, తనతో మాట్లాడటానికి వచ్చిన వ్యక్తులు కూర్చుంటేనే ఆయన కూడా కూర్చుంటారన్నారు. తెలుగులో ఇంతవరకూ నృత్య దర్శకుడిగా పూర్తి పాటకు చేయకపోయినా, గేమ్ చేంజర్ లో రామ్ చరణ్ ట్రాఫిక్ ర్యాప్ సాంగ్ కు మాత్రమే కొరియోగ్రఫీ చేశానన్నారు. తన నవ్వును చూసి ఇంట్లో పిల్లలు కూడా భయపడటంతో, ఎవరైనా ఫోటోలు అడిగినా కూడా నవ్వడం మానేశానన్నారు. మాట్లాడినప్పుడు కూడా వీలైనంత వరకూ తన కళ్లను పెద్దగా తెరిచి మాట్లాడనన్నారు.
