The teaser of producer Sudhakar Cherukuri’s next, KJQ, directed by debutant KK, was unveiled at an event in Hyderabad on Wednesday and it promises a violent gangster drama set in the backdrop of Hyderabad.
Clocking in at one-and-a-half minutes, the teaser opens with Deekshith Shetty’s character king equating Hyderabad city to a gun and saying both are same. “Whoever wields the power, their word is final,” he declares. Playing no nonsense man who is desperate for power, he eliminates any threat that comes in his way. On the other hand is Jackie (Shashi Odela), a man who is slowly scaling up the ladder of power and someone who believes in taking big risks. Then there is the queen (played by Yukti Thareja). From the looks of it, her character is integral to the narrative. While director KK chooses not to reveal the conflict, it’s obvious that the story centers around King, Jackie and Queen, promising a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
Full of violence, thrills, action sequences and edge-of-the-seat moments, the teaser, dealing with a complex maze of characters who are into criminal activities, promises a violent gangster drama that will take you by surprise. The one-liners are powerful, while the lead characters sink their teeth into their all powerful roles. The cinematography and background score complement each other, creating a visually stunning and dramatic atmosphere. For a production that features fairly new faces, the production values are lavish.
A Poornachandra Tejaswi musical, KJQ has no release date attached to it.
