A day before his birthday, production houses Hasya Movies and Ruudransh Celluloid gave a perfect gift to Kiran Abbavaram by unveiling the glimpse of his next, K-Ramp and it’s his show all the way.
Spanning 1:24 minutes, the glimpse opens with Kiran alighting from a car and heading straight to a local bar in Kerala. He is Kumar and life is playing its dubious game with him but he’s a laid-back and carefree guy who boozes with his friends frequently, eats raw eggs and mostly dons lungi à la Kerala style. And it isn’t a pretty sight when someone messes with him because he will cut loose. The glimpse concludes with him reeling a monologue where he states that our audience encourages Malayalam love stories more than our own because ours lack authenticity. Hmm!
Summing up, the glimpse is bursting with a lot of liveliness and it’s good to see Kiran in an eccentric avatar, ditching his comfort zone. His infectious energy reminds us of peak Ravi Teja and as Kumar it looks like it’s his character that will dominate the proceedings in K-Ramp with some help from the reliable Muralidhar Goud, promising a full-on commercial entertainer guaranteeing plenty of laughs. The glimpse succeeds in establishing the protagonist’s character well and the peppy music (by Chaitan Bharadwaj) complements Kumar’s idiosyncratic nature.
With Rangabali fame Yukti Thareja opposite Kiran and the likes of Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Sai Kumar and Vennela Kishore in the supporting department, K-Ramp is scheduled to hit screens on October 18 as a Diwali treat. Debutant Jains Nani is directing the film from his own screenplay.
The #KRamp glimpse is out, promising a field day for memers with its youth-centric content and double entendres.
In terms of characterisation, this feels like Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘DJ Tillu’ moment.
