The trailer of Laggam was released on Thursday and it promises to be a complete family entertainer set in the backdrop of a wedding in rural Telangana.
Spanning 2:18 minutes, the trailer begins with Rajendra Prasad’s character assuring a software engineer as a son-in-law for a concerned fellow villager. He equates software jobs as lord Vishnu’s 11th avatar. In fact he is so besotted with software employees that he pleads with children playing marbles on the road to learn operating computers. Full of life, he soon finds a match for his daughter Manasa (Pragya Nagra) and obviously the suitor (Sai Ronak) is a software employee from Hyderabad. The soon-to-tie-the-knot couple gets talking on the phone and within no time is in love. As wedding preparations are in full-swing a major issue leaves the wedding to be called off. The rest of the trailer takes an emotional turn as Manasa is shown heartbroken while Ronak is longing for her. To know what unfurls next, we have to catch the action on the big screen on October 25th.
In conclusion, the trailer tries to paint the significance wedding holds for an average rural middle-class family and the emotional turmoil they go through when things don’t go according to plan at the last minute, promising a rollercoaster ride of emotions with a touch of humour. It seems to be a film not just about wedding but more. Rajendra Prasad as the central character is as dependable as he always is, while Rohini Molleti adds emotional gravitas. The pairing of Ronak and Pragya is fresh. So buckle up and get ready to witness the shaadi of the year.
