London has been a happy hunting ground for BVSN Prasad’s Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, with the city having hosted the producer’s films like Nannaku Prematho,Tholiprema, Mr. Majnu and Ninnila Ninnila in the past. He continued his association with the historical city again last year with a long schedule of Varun Tej-starrer Gandeevadhari Arjuna. Before that he shepherded 90 percent of Nikhil’s next with Sudheer Varma, a crime comedy, without much noise in London. Majority of its shoot was wrapped up in 2021 itself.
What’s more interesting is that DJ Tillu fame Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s forthcoming film with Prasad also has a London backdrop. Relatively unknown face Vaisshnavi is sliding behind the camera to direct the project, which Prasad is co-producing with Sukumar Writings.
On the other hand, another famed production house People Media Factory has also picked London as the ideal location for two of their films. Srinivas Avasarala’s Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi, fronted by Naga Shaurya and Malavaika Nair, was shot in London and Birmingham last June and July. Initially, the director planned to set the film in the US but due to COVID-19 induced lockdown and subsequent travel restrictions to the US, he had to change the setting to London. Now, another film from the same production house, #Sharwa35, will be predominantly (nearly 80 percent) shot in London. The unit is planning to head to London shortly to shoot the film. The untitled project, directed by Sriram Adittya, is a young, vibrant and hilarious entertainer loaded with warm emotions.
That’s not all; UV Creations next with Anushka and Naveen Polishetty, Miss. Shetty Mr. Polishetty, was also filmed in London last November for nearly a couple of weeks. Also featuring Jayasudha and Murali Sharma in supporting roles, the film is a slice of life drama.
