The teaser of Sudheer Babu-fronted Maa Nanna Superhero was unveiled on Thursday and it is a cauldron of emotions interspersed with a liberal dose of humour.
Clocking in at nearly one minute and 20 seconds, the teaser opens with Sudheer Babu saying to his dad (played by Sayaji Shinde) that he need not get into trouble to earn money as he (Sudheer) is earning right now. Later, we get to see Shinde and Sudheer posing for a photograph in a photo studio and as the photographer asks Sudheer to get closer to his dad to reduce the space between them, Shinde storms away, asking the photographer to adjust space in the graphics. It’s obvious that the father doesn’t meet eye to eye with his son. Soon, the teaser transitions to Sudheer addressing Sai Chand as his dad and asking whether he has taken pills. Well, this seems to be a surprise. The rest of the video is dotted with shots of Sudheer showering love on Sai Chand and Shinde hating Sudheer. It concludes with Sudheer saying he has just one father and no one else.
In conclusion, the trailer evokes a plethora of emotions and promises a poignant father-son drama told humorously. Sudheer underplays the part and is sincere, while Shinde and Sai Chand bring their experience to the table. The background score by Jay Krish complements the emotions well, while the production values are rich.
Also featuring Aarna, Raju Sundaram, Shashank, Aamani, Chandra Vempaty and Annie in supporting roles, Maa Nanna Superhero marks the feature directorial debut of Loser web series fame Abhilash Reddy. It bows in cinemas on October 11th.
