A little familiar to Telugu audiences courtesy her stints in films like Petta and Master, Malavika Mohanan is making her Telugu debut with The Rajasaab opposite Rebel star Prabhas. She is one of the leading ladies of the film alongside Niddhi Agerwal. In a recent interaction, Malavika said she is excited about the film because it’s a fun genre. “It is a horror romantic-comedy. It’s a genre I haven’t done before. Prabhas is super fun to work with; he is chill,” she stated.
She added, “I’m a huge Baahubali fan; I loved Baahubali 1 and 2. And since then it was on my mind that I want to do a film with Prabhas. Prashanth Neel wanted for Salaar. So I was like, ‘it is a serendipitous kind of thing’. I was such a Prabhas fan and if I ended up doing the film, it would be my Telugu debut. For some reason however, it didn’t work out. And after a few months I got a call for The Rajasaab. And again it was Prabhas. I felt the universe was conspiring to tell me that my Telugu debut had to be with Prabhas. I mean what are the odds of starring opposite Prabhas?”
The Rajasaab, written and directed by Maruthi, is a People Media Factory production venture. A Thaman musical, it is slotted for April 10 release next year but chances of it arriving on this date are less.
