There’s no way you cannot have a smile after watching the teaser of Mathu Vadalara 2, which the makers released at an event in Hyderabad on Friday.

The one-minute-39-seconds video opens with Vennela Kishore, an actor in the world of director Ritesh Rana, taking questions from the media and answering à la Sandeep Reddy Vanga. “You’ve asked a question and you aren’t listening,” the actor quizzes an absent-minded journo (rings a bell?). It later transitions to the HE team, where Simha and Satya are members. According to its head (played by Rohini), the team deals with the most emergency situations like catching robbers and disarming bombs. However, Simha and Satya’s fate remains the same. They still earn meager pay, not meeting their needs. Left with no option, they resort to stealing. Fellow member played by Faria Abdullah is ashamed of their act and confronts them. Satya replies, saying it’s not stealing but ‘thaskarinchuta’ (in an obvious ode to part 1). The duo seem to be encountering a bigger problem this time around, which Ritesh reserves for the trailer maybe. It concludes with Vennela Kishore, saying ‘don’t laugh it’s a serious matter’ in what is a hugely viral video of Nandamuri Balakrishna, eliciting laughs.

Packed with hilarious moments and quirky characters, the teaser hints at a mad fun-filled entertainer which will have the audience laughing off their seats. It offers a glimpse into the chaos and humour that unfolds when Simha and Satya chase their dream of earning big bucks. Together, they share a scintillating chemistry, bringing the house down, while Faria seems to be the surprise package. The production values are bigger and it is seemingly evident with the action that dots the teaser. Kaala Bhairava’s score builds intrigue while accentuating the tension.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu under Clap Entertainment, the sequel, also featuring Sunil, Ajay and Jeevan, blazes into cinemas on September 13.
