Rebel star Prabhas on Sunday unveiled the trailer of Mathu Vadalara 2, which takes the baton from the film’s predecessor and promises to deliver 10x comedy brought alive by its stellar cast.
A little over two minutes, the trailer opens with a hilarious sequence wherein Yesu (played by Satya) shoots someone and throws the gun to Babu (Simha). When Babu asks why'd he threw the gun at him, a panic-stricken Yesu replies, ‘It will have your fingerprints as well if you touch it.’ Dressed like law enforcers from Europe, the duo is a part of ‘He’ team and they report to Damini (Rohini). Sunil is their superior officer and Yesu is scared of him. A character played by Faria Abdullah is their colleague. Like in the first part, their earnings are insufficient but that doesn’t deter them from indulging in charity, prompting Faria to label them as gems. Sunil shoots back, saying they are ‘germs’. They are assigned a new case: to locate the whereabouts of an influential socialite’s (Jhansi) daughter, who has gone missing. As they go about the job, their life takes an unexpected turn and soon they are hunted by their own department. To know what happens next, we have to catch the film.
Overall, the trailer gives a glimpse into the film’s plot, filled with unexpected twists, turns and plenty of humour. It follows the journey of its protagonists whose misfortunes and witty banter leave you in splits. The trailer also stitches moments of suspense in the storyline, making it a perfect watch this monsoon. Simha and Satya are in fine form, continuing from where they left off in the first installment, while Sunil, Vennela Kishore and Faria add to the madness of the world that Matha Vadalara is. The production values are a little bigger than the first part and it is evident in the action that dots the trailer.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu, the sequel, also featuring Ajay and Jeevan, blazes into cinemas on September 13. Written and directed by Ritesh Rana, it is a Kaala Bhairava musical.
