Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated megastar Chiranjeevi for being conferred upon the 'Indian Personality of the Year' award for the year 2022 by the International Film Festival of India. Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur announced that Chiranjeevi is the Indian Film Personality of the Year, at the opening night of the 53rd International film festival of India in Goa on Sunday.
Stating how Chiranjeevi’s has “endeared him to film lovers across generations”, Modi wrote, “Chiranjeevi Garu is remarkable. His rich work, diverse roles and wonderful nature have endeared him to film lovers across generations. Congratulations to him on being conferred the Indian Film Personality of the Year at IFFI Goa.”
Replying to the PM, Chiru wrote, “Feel Immensely Honoured and Humbled, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri @narendramodiji. Very grateful for your kind words!
A host of other prominent names also congratulated the megastar on the honour.
Lauding Chiru’s dedication, Telangana governor Dr Tamilisai Soudararajan wrote, “Congratulations Megastar Chiranjeevi garu @KChiruTweets .God will bless you with many more laurels in future for your dedication in the Film industry and your great sense of gratitude to serve your fans alongside Society at large.”
Union minister G Kishan Reddy also extended his congratulations to the megastar. “Congratulations to Sri Chiranjeevi Garu on being conferred ‘Indian Film Personality of the Year’ award at the IFFI Goa. An actor par excellence with more than 150 films to his credit, he has enthralled film enthusiasts with his brilliant performances,” the minister tweeted.
Former chief minister of AP, Nara Chandrababu Naidu posted, “My congratulations to @KChiruTweets on the rare honour of being selected as Indian Film Personality of the Year’. The honour is not only a matter of pride for the film industry, but for all Telugu people. He is a self made star who raised the level of Telugu cinema.”
