King Nagarjuna on Saturday unveiled the trailer of Ryan Sohel-headlined Mr Pregnant. “The subject appears to be quite challenging to handle. I wish the entire team of Mr Pregnant all the best. I hope this movie becomes a big hit,” the actor said later.
The two-minute-13-second trailer introduces Gautham (Sohel) as a tattoo artist in Hyderabad. He leads a crazy life and has a crazy girlfriend (Roopa Koduvayur) for company. He marries her and things take a turn in his life when he becomes preggers. How? You have to watch the film for that! A doctor (Anant), his parents, his friends, and society ridicule him for being pregnant but his wife stands by him shoulder to shoulder in his decision to carry the baby. There’s Ali, Brahmaji and Harsha Chemudu who seem to have enhanced the comedy quotient in an already high concept quirky drama. As Gautham becomes the subject of media interest for becoming the first man to be pregnant, he encounters a series of problems, including a set of goons attacking him while he is in his last trimester. How he pins them down and saves his baby, who has become his everything, seems to form the rest of the story, while promising a rib-tickling comedy entertainer with a touch of drama.
Written and directed by first-timer Srinivas Vinjanampati, Mr Pregnant is a joint production venture between Appi Reddy, Ravi Reddy Sajjala, Venkat Annapareddy. It has earworms by Shravan Bharadwaj, while Nenu Local cameraman Nizar Shafi lensed it. It will debut on the big screen on August 18. It is likely to be the major release of that week.
