After megastar Chiranjeevi, venerated director SS Rajamouli on Friday came forward to heap praise on the Miss Shetty Mister Polishetty, starring Anushka Shetty and Naveen Polishetty, and calling it a fun watch.

The director, who makes it a point to appreciate good cinema, took to X (formerly Twitter) to pass his verdict on the film. Beginning by lauding Anushka, who is extremely close to his family, and Naveen Polishetty, he wrote, “Sweety looked as beautiful and radiant as ever. @NaveenPolishety provided lots of laughter and loads of fun….”

Reserving high laurels for director P Mahesh Babu, he added, “Congratulations to the #MissShettyMrPolishetty’s team on their success. @filmymahesh, kudos to you for handling such a sensitive subject with so much fun!”

Replying to Rajamouli, Naveen, who is away in the US promoting the film, wrote, “Omg. The legend Rajamouli garu loved our film. Thank you sir @ssrajamouli. Glad we could make you laugh guys go watch #MissShettyMrPolishetty this weekend while I go do a mad dance and keep reading this tweet every five minutes.”

The director also congratulated team Jawan for the historic opening. The Atlee-helmed action entertainer with a social message pulled in a record 129.6 crore gross on day one, thereby emerging as the biggest day one grosser in the history of Indian cinema. The film had a Telugu dubbed version release as well on Friday. “This is the reason why @IamSRK is the Baadshah of the box office… What an earth-shattering opening… Congratulations @Atlee_dir for continuing the success streak in the north too, and congrats to the team of #Jawan for the stupendous success,” Rajamouli wrote.
