For the action feats they’ve performed in SS Rajamouli’s action extravaganza RRR, the duo of Jr NTR and Ram Charan have been compared to the extremely popular Marvel heroes of the West. So it came as no surprise when Hollywood scribes wanted to know if the duo is interested in headlining a Marvel film as they are in the US right now building momentum for RRR in the run up to Oscar nominations. While Ram Charan, whose favourite Marvel superhero is Captain America, was quick to respond with “absolutely, why not?” at the Golden Globes on Tuesday, Jr NTR too was not left behind.

Speaking to Vatiety’s Senior Culture & Events Editor Marc Malkin at the screening of RRR at the DGA in West Hollywood recently, Tarak too expressed his wish to join the MCU, an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films produced by Marvel Studios. “I would love to do it,” he said. His favourite Marvel character is Iron Man, who was immortalized by Robert Downey Jr in multiple Iron Man and Avengers series. “He’s so relatable,” Tarak stated. “He is someone like us. He does not have superpowers. He doesn’t come from a different planet. He’s not someone who has been put through a science experiment and become the Hulk.”
