The biggest of all updates from team They Call Him OG, starring power star Pawan Kalyan, is here. After announcing the names of Arjun Das and Sriya Reddy in the course of the last one week in various important parts, the makers on Thursday dropped another scintillating update. This time around, it’s pertaining to the bête noire of Pawan Kalyan in the film and its none other than Bollywood hero Emraan Haashmi. The project marks his Telugu and south debut. It’s also his first film in a language other than Hindi, where he played the leading man for more than 15 years. After Saif Ali Khan in #NTR30, Emraan is the latest Bolly celeb to look down south for variety in career.
“When we have the #OG, we should also have a badass who is powerful and striking…Presenting you all, the nemesis @EmraanHashmi,” announced DVV Entertainment on Twitter while welcoming the Murder actor on board.
Interestingly, Emraan is also playing nemesis to RAW agent Tiger (played by Salman Khan) in Yash Raj Film’s Tiger 3, which is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
While the nature of Emraan’s role and whether he has started shooting for the film is under wraps, his inclusion in the film was met with a great cheer from Pawan fans who are delighted with team OG dropping frequent updates about the film, which is on sets in Hyderabad right now.
A gangster drama, OG, with music by S Thaman and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran, is a directorial venture of Run Raja Run and Saaho fame Sujeeth Sign. He is also credited with penning the screenplay. The film will most likely be the second release of the year for Pawan after Bro. It has taken precedence shoot-wise over his other titles like Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
