Director Sujeeth revealed that the idea for the title ‘OG’ first came to him back in 2008. At the time, he even recorded a rap song titled ‘OG’ and uploaded it to YouTube. However, after receiving several negative comments calling it a “cringe rap,” he ended up deleting the video.
Despite that, the title ‘OG’ stayed with him in his mind over the years.
When it came to naming the OG film, Sujeeth said he initially struggled to come up with a title. So, he simply released a poster with Pawan Kalyan’s back-facing photo and the caption ‘They Call Him OG’ in a Japanese style.
To his surprise, by the next morning, everyone was talking about the name ‘OG’, and it had instantly caught fire among fans and the media alike. Sujeeth jokingly added, “It reached a point where I felt fans would beat me up if I didn’t go with the title ‘OG’!”
