The trailer of Varun Tej-starrer Operation Valentine was dropped by global star Ram Charan on Tuesday. “The #OPVFinalStrike is here and looks massive. Very proud of my brother @IAmVarunTej for always picking up unique films and this time a film that whole the nation will be proud of! Good luck to the entire team of #OperationValentine Looking forward to the film on March 1st!” he wrote on X.

The two-minute-42-second clip opens with Arjun (played by Varun), an air force warrior with battle scars, having a nightmare of disobeying his seniors’ orders in the sky. Arjun codenamed Rudra is an adventure junkie with no fear. “Risks are common in air warriors' lives,” he says when his love interest, a radar officer (Manushi Chillar), asks when he will stop being adventurous. Things take a turn when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethapora in the Pulwama district of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. Arjun is mighty pissed off with this. The Indian Air Force, however, decides to launch a retaliatory air strike in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). “Are you ready to change the colour of the sky,” a senior officer says to a group of air force warriors who are ready to take revenge. This mission is termed as Operation Valentine. The rest of the trailer focuses on the heroic exploits of Arjun and other combat aviators who breached the neighbouring country’s skyline in POK, prompting intense aerial battle sequences.

Overall, the trailer packs promise of intense action, thrill and high-octane aerial action sequences that will keep you at the edge-of-your-seats. It seems to blend heart-thumping action sequences with patriotic fervor, promising an immersive and exhilarating experience. Besides the breathtaking aerial action scenes, the chemistry between Varun and Manushi is also highlighted.

The aerial-actioner is produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, Sandeep Mudda’s Renaissance Pictures, and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment (Vakil Khan) and Nandakumar Abbineni. Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, a seasoned ad-film maker and VFX aficionado, is marking his directorial debut with the film. Written by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, Aamir Khan, and Siddharth Raj Kumar, Operation Valentine will fly into cinemas in Telugu and Hindi on March 1, 2024.
