After kicking off the promotions with the first look recently, the makers of Pindam, starring Sriram and Kushee Ravi, on Monday dropped the film’s teaser in Hyderabad. Kona Venkat, BVS Ravi and Sree Harsha Konuganti were some of the celebs who graced the launch event. Produced by Yeshwanth Daggumati and directed by debutant Saikiran Daida, the film is a horror thriller.
The-two-minute-46-second long clip opens with a spirit healer (Easwari Rao) trying to help a young woman who is possessed by a spirit. Later, upon being asked by a character played by Srinivas Avasarala, she recounts a complicated case of her career which she terms as a special one that she will never cease to forget. It is the story of a soul with great powers, she thunders cagily, sending chills down the spine of the viewers. It’s about a middle-class family with two girl children and a granny who reside away from the hustle-bustle of the populace. Actor Sriram is the head of the family. One day during dinner, the family is troubled by creaking sounds and then they see photographs adorning the walls coming off, much to their shock. Soon toys in the house move without any pressure exerted on them. Sriram is suspicious of something happening. He feels someone is watching his family. The spirit healer comes to their house and sensing some trouble leaves it from the gate itself. The family later discovers the presence of something, which gives them tremendous fear. The spirit healer finally comes to their rescue and says that there are too many forces in the house working against them. Within no time, one of the girl children is possessed. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Rounding up, the trailer showed off just a bit of the spookiness that this possession movie has up its sleeve. It seems to have an excellent premise that gives the movie room for plenty of scares and fun, and a few incredibly horrific twists as well. The production values are neat and the background score gives it an eerie feel.
Pindam has wrapped up its shoot and is gearing up for a release next month.
