Poonam Kaur, who is best known for her turns in Souryam and Vinayakudu, has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. People with the condition experience musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. They also suffer from headaches, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression. The disorder affects 2 to 4 percent of people, women more often than men.

While participating in a protest in New Delhi in the first half of last month, Poonam suddenly developed pains, prompting her to visit Kerala to seek medical aid. Upon diagnosis, it was revealed-- on November 18-- that she was suffering from Fibromyalgia. She sought treatment in Kerala for some time and is now in Maharashtra taking rest. She is stable right now.

A member of the Congress party, Poonam made it to the news when she joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra from Dharmapur in Mahabubnagar town in Telangana in October.
