Attention ladies and gentlemen, the trailer of Pushpa 2: The Rule is here and it is everything we hoped for. Like a quintessential Sukumar film, this one too has action, romance, family drama and revenge.
Roughly three minutes in length, it opens with Jagapathi Babu’s political leader character, from Seema, worried about Pushpa. “He doesn’t care about money nor does he has the fear of power,” he says, addressing Pushpa. Then it’s the turn of Srivalli to sing hosannas about her husband. For her Pushpa is not a name, it’s a brand. We finally get to see Pushpa in a close up, lighting up a cigarette, exuding flamboyance and swag that has become his patent right. The next segment of the trailer focuses on the bond Pushpa shares with Srivalli. Almost halfway into the trailer, Bhanwar Singh Shekawat (Fahadh Faasil), who has old scores to settle with Pushpa, is introduced. And he’s like a wounded lion here, baying for Pushpa’s blood. As Shekawat goes on rampaging sandalwood belonging to Pushpa, new enemies surface and Pushpa has more problems to deal with. But remember he is Pushpa! He will not relent unless he gets the money he’s promised and is ready to face any danger. The trailer concludes with him equating himself to ‘Wildfire’ during a confrontation scene with Shekawat.
In conclusion, the trailer suggests that Pushpa is full of all the elements essential to construct a successful and commercial action entertainer with Sukumar’s stamp over it. The fascinating blend of action, romance, witty and weighty dialogues, the element of disguise and deception and a picturesque rural setting make it clear that the film will be full of thrilling and heart-stopping moments, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience. Allu Arjun is simply outstanding as the titular character; he seems to have given his career best while Fahadh Faasil as Shekawat is the perfect foil for him. The trailer teases that FaFa is on a mission to overpower Pushpa and take control, but the plot seems to be thick with twists and turns, suggesting a tactical battle between the two. The background score complements the trailer well, while the cinematography is top-notch.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2 will blaze into cinemas on December 5th worldwide.
