SS Rajamouli’s admiration for Sukumar is widely known. In multiple interviews time and again, he expressed his fondness for the way the Pushpa writer and helmer thinks. During a recent conversation with Film Companion, Rajamouli was asked if there’s one actor in 2023 he’s betting his money on. To that he said, “I don’t usually bet on actors because I know all of them are good. If they are not good, they will not be in the position they are in today. So mostly I look forward to their films. I’m looking forward to Charan’s next movie with Sukumar. Charan has narrated an opening sequence of that film and I really really loved it. I’m waiting for their combination.”

Charan and Sukumar earlier worked for Rangasthalam (2018), which was a box-office smash. While there is no date attached to their next collaboration yet, one thing’s for sure they will be joining forces.

In another interaction with Film Companion, Rajamouli showered praise on the Malayalam film industry, which is known for its content-rich cinema. “Malayalam cinema has the best writing. Today if I’m envious of anyone, I would say it is Malayalam writers and actors,” the hitmaker declared.

Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, who was a part of the interaction, chimed in: “Ten seconds of this interview is going viral in Kerala.”
