A day before its muhurat, production house Mythri Movie Makers announced that Mr. Bachchan girl Bhagyashree Borse as the leading lady of their next venture with Ram Pothineni. Our sources tell us that the film has got a great scope for music and the makers, after considering various options, zeroed in on Tamil composers’ duo Vivek–Mervin for the job. They worked on Tamil films like Vadacurry (2014), Dora (2016), Pattas (2020) and Sulthan (2021). They will be making their Telugu cinema debut with RAPO22.
A source close to the development tells us, “Writer-director P Mahesh Babu was on the lookout for a composer with a new sound. Also, the album of RAPO22 needs a versatile composer who is into other genres as well besides melody. His search ended with Vivek–Mervin. The jamming sessions with the duo have started and Mahesh is extremely happy with the tunes they’ve given.”
Speaking to idlebrain.com earlier, Mahesh said the film narrates the emotional and heartwarming story of the protagonist (played by Ram) laced with a generous dose of humour. “It will have a certain intensity and ideology. It’s a fresh and organic story which anyone can connect to. I believe it’s necessary to tell such a story,” he had said. While he was cagey about revealing the nature of Ram’s role, he had added, “After a long time I feel he will be playing a role which can resonate with many people; it’s a role which will be relatable to all age groups cutting across backgrounds and demographics.”
