The filming of global star Ram Charan’s next with Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana commenced in Mysore on Friday. Earlier in the morning, Buchi sought the blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari in Mysore before he began filming. “It’s a BIG DAY… The most awaited moment. Started with the blessings of Chamundeshwari Matha, Mysore. Blessings needed,” he posted on X.

While Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is on board to play a key supporting turn in the film, the makers also revealed the inclusion of Jagapathi Babu in the film.

Tipped to be a hard-hitting emotional sports drama set in the backdrop of Uttarandhra, #RC16 will have a rural milieu. Sources say the Mysore leg will last seven to ten days before the unit begins filming at a huge set erected at Bhoot Bungalow, Hyderabad.

Speaking about the film, Ram Charan had said, “I am working on a path-breaking character which is better than my previous subject called Rangasthalam. It is again a story of the soil. I feel this film has every possibility to go to the Western audience and woo them as an Indian story of the soil.”

Venkata Satish Kilaru is producing #RC16 under Vriddhi Cinemas while Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings too are associating at the production level. Janhvi Kapoor is cast opposite Charan in the flick, with Oscar winner AR Rahman serving as the music composer for the first time for a Charan film.
