One-film-old Ritika Nayak, who made heads turn with her performance in Vishwak Sen-starrer Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, has been cast opposite Ashish Reddy in his next, Selfish, directed by Kasi Visal, a former protégé of Sukumar.

A source close to the development tells us, “Before Ritika, the makers toyed with many names but after Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, Kasi felt she was the right choice for his project. She was on board immediately after hearing the narration. It’s a well-etched role and she is bound to leave her impact once again. The film will roll in Hyderabad on December 5. Although the makers launched it earlier this April, Kasi took time to work on the script more.”

Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations is producing the film in association with Sukumar Writings, while Mickey J Meyer is scoring music. Speaking about the project, Raju had said earlier, “When Kasi narrated the idea of Selfish; I liked it and told him I will produce it. He worked on the script even before the release of Rowdy Boys. It’s a challenging film for Ashish.”
